The best social alarm apps in 2026

Updated October 22, 2026 · Written by the RingLink team

Your phone's alarm only knows about you. It cannot wake a friend, it cannot tell your partner you snoozed, and it cannot make a whole group get up at 6am. A social alarm app can.

We looked at 7 apps that bring other people into your morning. We make RingLink, which is on this list, so keep that in mind. Every fact about the other apps comes from their own App Store page or website, checked on October 22, 2026. We tell you where each one is the better pick.

Quick picks

  • Best for waking up together on iPhone: RingLink
  • Best for groups with Android phones: Galarm
  • Best for a friend setting your alarm: WakeMate
  • Best for friends who shame your snooze: Snooze Squad
  • Best for alarms tied to events: LFG Alarm

Three kinds of social alarm

"Social alarm" means different things in different apps. Know which kind you want before you pick:

  • Shared alarms. One alarm rings for everyone in a group. Good for couples, friends, families and teams who want to get up at the same time. Examples: RingLink, Galarm, Sync Alarm, LFG Alarm.
  • Remote alarms. A friend sets or sends an alarm to your phone. Good when one person is the reliable one. Examples: WakeMate, PingPal, Galarm buddy alarms.
  • Snooze accountability. Friends find out when you snooze. Good if a little shame works on you. Example: Snooze Squad.

Shared alarm · iPhone and iPad, iOS 26 or later · Free plan, Pro subscription

RingLink is built for one job: getting a group of people up at the same time. You create an alarm, called a Ring, and invite your people. When they accept, the alarm is set on their phone at the right moment in their own time zone.

  • See who is up. Each person shows as on time, late, snoozed or missed.
  • Wake-up challenges. Make everyone solve math, type a phrase, take a photo of a spot, walk, play a memory game, keep their face on screen or shake the phone to stop the alarm.
  • Hard to sleep through. Ignore the alarm and it rings again.
  • Streaks and stats, including a group streak.
  • Your own sounds, including ringtones you record with your voice.

Price: The free plan gives you one shared alarm with a friend, the Math challenge and 7 days of history. Joining a friend's alarm is always free. Pro adds unlimited alarms, groups of 3 or more, and every challenge and ringtone.

Watch out for: It is iPhone only and needs iOS 26. It has no chat and no reminders. It is also new, so it has few App Store ratings so far.

Best for: couples, friends, families and remote teams on iPhone who want to know that everyone actually got up.

2. Galarm

Shared and remote alarms · iPhone, Android and web · Free plan, Premium from $0.99/month

Galarm is the most complete app on this list. Group alarms ring on everyone's phone at the same time, buddy alarms let you set an alarm for a friend, and instant alarms ring a whole group with one tap. Each alarm has its own chat. It is also a full reminder app, with repeats, categories and a calendar view.

Price: Free to start, with limits on group, buddy and instant alarms. Premium is $0.99 a month, $9.99 a year or $24.99 once, with a 14-day free trial.

Watch out for: It does a lot, so it takes longer to learn. We could not find wake-up challenges on its website or App Store page.

Best for: groups where some people use Android, and anyone who wants alarms and reminders in one app. We compare it with RingLink in detail in RingLink vs Galarm.

3. Sync Alarm – Share with Family

Shared alarm · iPhone and iPad, iOS 26 or later · Free for 2 devices

Sync Alarm keeps it simple. You make a group, share an 8-digit code, and approve who joins. Alarms set in the group appear on everyone's phone. The group owner can stop members from editing or turning off alarms. It also has a countdown timer that everyone in the group shares.

Price: Free for 2 devices. A third device needs a $3.99 one-time purchase (which also removes ads) or the $1.99 monthly plan. Extra sounds and voice alarms are a separate $3.99 purchase.

Watch out for: Its own listing says members must tap a notification or open the app for a new alarm to sync. It does not show who woke up.

Best for: a couple or a small family who want the same alarms on every phone.

4. WakeMate

Remote alarm · iPhone, iOS 26 or later · Free to download, paid plans

WakeMate flips the idea. Instead of sharing an alarm, you let trusted friends set alarms on your phone, with a message, a label and a one-time, daily or custom schedule. You give each friend permission, and you can take it back at any time.

Price: Free to download, with Individual, Duo and Family plans. Individual is $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year.

Watch out for: It is about one person setting alarms for another, not a group waking up together.

Best for: the friend or parent who is always the reliable one.

5. Snooze Squad

Snooze accountability · iPhone, iOS 26 or later · Free

Snooze Squad turns your friends into "Wakers". You invite them with a code. They pick your alarm sound, record a voice message that plays when it rings, and get a notification every time you hit snooze.

Price: Free. No in-app purchases are listed.

Watch out for: Your friends only see your snoozes. It does not wake them up with you.

Best for: people who get up faster when someone is watching.

6. PingPal

Remote alarm · iPhone and iPad, iOS 18 or later · Free, Premium subscription

PingPal lets you send a friend an alarm with your own song, a voice message, or photos and videos as the background. To prove they are awake, your friend must finish a mission: a morning selfie, copying a pose or recording a short dance.

Price: Free, with Premium at $7.99 a week or $44.99 a year.

Watch out for: The weekly price adds up fast. It works best for fun, not for a group schedule.

Best for: friends who want to make waking up a game.

7. LFG Alarm

Shared alarm · Android, iPhone on pre-order · Free

LFG Alarm is a social alarm for moments, not just mornings. Share one link in a group chat and every phone that joined rings at once. It can also ring when something happens online, like a post, a livestream, a price move or an event. A wake board shows who got up first, who snoozed and who slept through.

Price: Free.

Watch out for: When we checked, the iPhone version was a pre-order on the App Store, expected on November 1, 2026. It is built around events, so it is less focused on a daily wake-up routine.

Best for: friend groups who want to catch drops, streams and events together.

What about Alarmy?

Alarmy shows up in almost every list of alarm apps, and for good reason: it has 4.8 stars from about 250,000 ratings on the US App Store. You stop it by finishing a mission, like math, a memory game, shaking the phone or doing squats. But it is a solo alarm. Its App Store page does not list any way to share an alarm or wake a friend. If you want missions and friends, look at RingLink or PingPal.

How to choose

  1. Check everyone's phone. If anyone uses Android, start with Galarm. Most other apps here are iPhone only.
  2. Decide what "social" means for you. Waking up together, a friend setting your alarm, or friends watching your snooze are three different apps.
  3. Ask if you need proof. If you want to know that people really got up, look for wake status (RingLink, LFG Alarm) or proof missions (RingLink challenges, PingPal).
  4. Look at who pays. In RingLink, joining a friend's alarm is always free. In Sync Alarm, the third device costs money.
  5. Test it the night before. Set an alarm a few minutes ahead and check that it rings on every phone before you trust it with a flight or an exam.

Questions people ask

What is a social alarm app?

A social alarm app is an alarm that involves other people. Some ring one alarm for a whole group, some let a friend set an alarm on your phone, and some tell your friends when you snooze.

Can I share an alarm with friends on iPhone?

Not with Apple's Clock app. It cannot send an alarm to anyone else. You need a social alarm app such as RingLink, Galarm or Sync Alarm.

Which social alarm app works on both iPhone and Android?

Galarm works on iPhone, Android and the web, so it is the safest pick for a mixed group. Most of the newer social alarm apps, including RingLink, are iPhone only.

Is there a free app to wake up with friends?

Yes. RingLink's free plan includes one shared alarm with a friend, and joining a friend's alarm is always free. Galarm, Sync Alarm, WakeMate and Snooze Squad are also free to start.

Can a friend wake me up from their phone?

Yes. WakeMate and Galarm's buddy alarms let a friend set an alarm on your phone after you allow it. PingPal lets a friend send you an alarm with their own song, voice or photo.
