Terms of Service

Welcome to Ringlink! These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Ringlink mobile
application (the "App") operated by Farouq Zafar ("we", "us", "our").
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree,
do not use the App.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Ringlink, you confirm that:
- You are at least 12 years old
- You have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement
- You will comply with all applicable laws and these Terms
- You have read and understood our Privacy Policy
2. Account Registration and Security
2.1 Account Creation
To use Ringlink, you must create an account by providing:
- A valid email address
- A secure password
- A display name and unique username
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information
- Keep your account information up to date
- Maintain the confidentiality of your password
- Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
2.2 Account Responsibility
You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account. We are not liable for any loss
or damage arising from your failure to protect your account credentials.
2.3 One Account Per Person
You may only create one account. Creating multiple accounts may result in suspension or termination
of all your accounts.
3. Acceptable Use
3.1 Permitted Use
You may use Ringlink to:
- Set and manage personal alarms
- Create and join shared alarms with friends
- Track your wake-up performance and statistics
- Connect with other users through friend requests
3.2 Prohibited Use
You agree NOT to:
- Violate laws: Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any local,
state, national, or international law
- Harass others: Abuse, harass, threaten, impersonate, or intimidate other users
- Spam or mislead: Send unsolicited messages, spam, or misleading information
- Interfere with the App: Attempt to hack, disrupt, or damage the App's
functionality or servers
- Scrape data: Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to collect data from the App
- Reverse engineer: Decompile, disassemble, or reverse engineer the App
- Impersonate: Create accounts using fake names or impersonate others
- Sell access: Sell, rent, or transfer your account to others
- Bypass restrictions: Circumvent any technical limitations or security measures
Warning: Violation of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination
of your account without notice or refund.
4. Content and Intellectual Property
4.1 Your Content
You retain ownership of any content you create in the App (alarm titles, notes, profile information).
By using the App, you grant us a limited license to:
- Store and display your content as necessary to provide the App's features
- Share your content with other users as you direct (e.g., when you create shared alarms)
You represent and warrant that:
- You own or have the right to use all content you submit
- Your content does not violate any third-party rights
- Your content does not contain illegal, obscene, or offensive material
4.2 Our Intellectual Property
All rights, title, and interest in the App (including software, design, logos, trademarks, and
content) are owned by Farouq Zafar. You may not:
- Copy, modify, or distribute the App or any part of it
- Use our trademarks, logos, or branding without permission
- Create derivative works based on the App
5. Shared Alarms and Social Features
5.1 Shared Alarm Rules
When you create or join a shared alarm:
- Your username, display name, and profile photo become visible to all participants
- Your alarm performance (stop times, on-time rate) is visible to all participants
- You can leave a shared alarm at any time
- The alarm owner can remove participants at any time
5.2 Friend Connections
You can send friend requests to other users. By adding friends:
- Your profile information becomes visible to your friends
- Friends can invite you to shared alarms
- You can remove friends or block users at any time
5.3 User Conduct
When interacting with other users, you must:
- Be respectful and courteous
- Not harass, abuse, or threaten others
- Not share inappropriate or offensive content
6. Premium Features and In-App Purchases
6.1 Future Premium Features
We may offer premium features or subscriptions in the future. If we do:
- Pricing and features will be clearly disclosed before purchase
- Purchases are processed through the Apple App Store
- Apple's payment terms and refund policies apply
- Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled
6.2 Refunds
All purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by law or Apple's App Store policies.
To request a refund, contact Apple Support directly.
7. Data and Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and
protect your information. By using the App, you consent to our data practices as described in the
Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability
8.1 "As Is" Disclaimer
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or
implied, including but not limited to:
- Warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement
- That the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
- That alarms will always function reliably
8.2 Alarm Reliability Disclaimer
Important: While we strive to provide reliable alarm functionality, Ringlink is not
a substitute for a dedicated alarm clock or medical device. We cannot guarantee that alarms will
always sound as expected due to factors beyond our control, including:
- Device settings (Do Not Disturb, Silent Mode, Low Power Mode)
- Operating system updates or bugs
- Network connectivity issues
- Device battery depletion
- App crashes or iOS limitations
You are responsible for ensuring you wake up on time. Do not rely solely on Ringlink for critical
wake-up needs (e.g., flights, medical appointments, work).
8.3 Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Farouq Zafar and Ringlink shall not be liable for any:
- Indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
- Loss of profits, revenue, data, or use
- Damages resulting from missed alarms or wake-up failures
- Damages arising from your use or inability to use the App
Our total liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the App shall not exceed the amount
you paid us in the 12 months prior to the claim (or €100 if you have not made any payments).
8.4 Third-Party Services
The App relies on third-party services (Supabase, Firebase, Apple APNs). We are not responsible for:
- Outages or failures of these services
- Changes to their terms or policies
- Data breaches or security incidents on their platforms
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Farouq Zafar, Ringlink, and our affiliates from any
claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:
- Your use of the App
- Your violation of these Terms
- Your violation of any third-party rights
- Your content or conduct on the App
10. Account Termination
10.1 Termination by You
You may delete your account at any time from the App's Settings screen. Upon deletion, all of your
data is permanently and immediately deleted from our systems. This includes:
- Your account and all associated personal data are permanently deleted
- All your alarms, alarm history, and performance statistics are deleted
- You are removed from all shared alarms and friend lists
- Your profile photo and push notification tokens are deleted
- All usage data tied to your account is erased
This action is irreversible.
10.2 Termination by Us
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, if:
- You violate these Terms
- Your account is used for illegal activities
- You abuse, harass, or threaten other users
- You engage in fraudulent or deceptive behavior
- We are required to do so by law
If your account is terminated for violating these Terms, you may not create a new account without our
permission.
10.3 Effect of Termination
Upon termination:
- Your right to use the App immediately ceases
- All of your data is permanently deleted from our systems in accordance with our Privacy Policy —
we do not retain any personal data after account deletion
- Sections 4, 7, 8, 9, 11, and 12 of these Terms survive termination
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do:
- We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top
- We will notify you via push notification or email if changes are material
- The updated Terms will be posted at ringlinkalarm.com/terms
Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
If you do not agree, you must stop using the App and delete your account.
12. Governing Law and Disputes
12.1 Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12.2 Dispute Resolution
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first at support@ringlinkalarm.com to attempt an informal resolution.
If we cannot resolve the dispute informally, any legal action must be brought in the courts of
Finland. You agree to submit to the personal jurisdiction of these courts.
12.3 Waiver of Class Actions
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to bring claims against us only in your individual
capacity, and not as part of any class action or representative proceeding.
13. Miscellaneous
13.1 Entire Agreement
These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and
Ringlink and supersede all prior agreements.
13.2 Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions
remain in full force.
13.3 No Waiver
Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that
right or provision.
13.4 Assignment
You may not assign or transfer these Terms or your account without our written consent. We may assign
these Terms at any time.
13.5 Force Majeure
We are not liable for any failure to perform our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable
control (e.g., natural disasters, pandemics, wars, internet outages).
